What Is Molecular Testing?
Molecular testing is an advanced diagnostic and prognostic tool available to melanoma patients. Because melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer, we believe patients should have as much information as possible regarding their condition. With molecular testing, we can perform an incredibly detailed analysis on a tumor. If you have not been diagnosed with melanoma, this process will enable us to easily determine whether your growth is cancerous or not.
If you have already been diagnosed with melanoma, the molecular testing process can reveal important details about your condition. Perhaps most importantly, it analyzes your genetics to determine the risk of your skin cancer spreading into other areas of the body.
