About Dr. Kopecky
Dr. Heather Kopecky was born and raised in Portland, Ore. She earned her Honors Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University in biochemistry and biophysics. She entered the workforce for a few years as a scientific glassblower before earning her doctorate at Western University of Health Sciences also in Oregon, where she very much enjoyed living in beautiful Willamette Valley wine country.
After graduating with distinction from medical school, she moved across the country for the opportunity to complete a dermatology residency at HCA Florida Largo Hospital. Here she received excellent training under many dermatology leaders in the field and especially loved the opportunity to provide care to our veterans through the VA. During her final year of training, Dr. Kopecky served as academic chief resident.
Dr. Kopecky enjoys attending dermatology conferences as a way to stay current on emerging research in the field. She also spends time mentoring medical students who are interested in dermatology.
She has a special interest in diagnosing and treating skin cancers as well as the full scope of inflammatory skin diseases to help patients look and feel their best. She prides herself in her personable bedside manner and ability to help patients navigate sometimes complex medical diagnoses with kindness and expertise.
In her free time, Dr. Kopecky enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young boys. She is excited to be back near the mountains for all the camping and hiking after four years of residency by the beach.
