Goodman Dermatology Clinical Fellowship
Goodman Dermatology residency, in association with Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is accepting applications for two clinical dermatology fellows. This is a highly sought-after opportunity designed for motivated individuals passionate about advancing their dermatologic knowledge through patient care, centered around a private practice. This fellowship is a one-to-two-year commitment, offering comprehensive experience in clinical, procedural and surgical dermatology. Fellows work closely with residents and faculty members.
To date, all (x number) of fellows have successfully matriculated into a dermatology residency!
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Exposure: Gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and managing a wide array of dermatologic conditions, including but not limited to skin cancers, inflammatory skin diseases, pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.
- Patient Care: Engage in patient care activities, including outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and procedural experiences, under the guidance of experienced dermatologists.
- Education and Research: Participate in educational sessions, grand rounds, and journal clubs to broaden knowledge and critical thinking. Opportunities for involvement in research projects and scholarly activities are available and encouraged.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) and completion of PGY-1 year: Applicants must possess a medical or doctoral degree in medicine. Prior completion of a PGY-1 year (at minimum) is a prerequisite for entry into the fellowship.
- Demonstrated Interest in Dermatology: A keen interest in dermatology, evident through prior academic achievements, publications, or clinical experience in dermatology.
- Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with peers and engage in scientific discourse.
Duration and Benefits:
- Duration: The fellowship typically spans one-to-two-years, providing a comprehensive dermatology experience.
- Stipend and Benefits: Fellows are FULLY FUNDED. Fellows will receive a competitive stipend and access to resources such as faculty mentorship, research opportunities, and professional development opportunities.
