Dr. Heather Ivy Hensley was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She achieved her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!). She practiced as a physical therapist for two years as she obtained further coursework to apply for medical school. She attended medical school at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences, where she was awarded Student Doctor of the Year and was inducted into Omega Beta Iota, a Political Action Honor Society.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Hensley completed her internship at Oklahoma State University Medical Center. She completed two years of residency in diagnostic and interventional radiology, then gladly accepted the opportunity to complete Dermatology Residency at Goodman Dermatology in Roswell, Georgia.
Dr. Ivy Hensley lectures across the country for CeraVe and new, innovative medications to the dermatology landscape.
She has a special interest in inflammatory rashes, like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
Dr. Ivy Hensley is the regional medical director for LaserAway clinics in the state of Georgia. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD), American Surgical Dermatologic Society (ASDS), American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Dr. Ivy Hensley enjoys teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians and serves as graduate medical education faculty and lecturer for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia. She believes in serving the community and frequently volunteers her time at local skin cancer screening events.
Dr. Heather Ivy Hensley enjoys seeing a diverse patient population of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. She approaches each patient with high quality, compassionate care, a genuine smile, and attention-to-detail. She is dedicated to saving lives by treating/preventing skin cancers and enhancing patients’ lives by increasing confidence in their appearance. She enjoys the art of cosmetic dermatology and finds joy in helping patients achieve their healthiest and most radiant skin.
In her free time, she enjoys being outside hiking trails with her golden retriever, Simon. She loves spending time with her friends and family in Texas and Oklahoma. She also loves watching Oklahoma Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball.
