Meet Dr. Benjamin Kahn

Goodman Dermatology Resident Physician

Dr. Benjamin Kahn was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, earning a dual bachelor degree in History and Television, Radio and Film Production. He then pursued a very successful career as a TV and media producer in NYC. Dr. Kahn first realized how empathy for others could make a difference when he wrote, produced, edited, and filmed an award-winning documentary called A Walk in the Dark. The film tells the story of a student whose tragic car accident results in the loss of both his eyesight and his confidence. It chronicles the subsequent healing process that enabled him to succeed in a world of darkness. The film went on to win an award for Best Short Documentary at the NY International Independent Film and Video Festival. At the height of his career he won an Emmy Award as a producer for George to the Rescue on NBC, a show that helps individuals, families and organizations in need of home and community renovations.

With an Emmy in hand and a desire to make more of an impact and help people beyond the camera, Dr. Kahn decided to leave the media industry and made a decision to change his career to medicine. He attended a Post Bachelor Pre-Med program at Stony Brook University, and then attended Medical School at St. George’s University in Grenada where he graduated with Distinction in Scholarly Activity. Dr. Kahn continued his medical training at Coney Island Hospital Transition Year Internship program in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Kahn believes the skin has a story to tell and he’s excited to practice dermatology and share his passion for patient care and developing strong relationships with his patients. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling and living an active healthy lifestyle. Dr. Kahn is an avid New York sports and Syracuse Orange fan, and looks forward every year to the college basketball season. Dr. Kahn is looking forward to exploring Georgia and making the south his new home!
