What is LED Light Therapy?
LED light therapy is a skin treatment that uses a combination of red, blue, and infrared light to heal and rejuvenate the skin. LED light therapy is different from most laser treatments in that is a much gentler procedure. Laser treatment are designed to exfoliate and penetrate the skin, while LED light therapy simply heats the skin with precise wavelengths of light to trigger healing benefits.
The LED light system produces no UV rays, so there is no risk of harming or damaging the skin through treatment. The diverse wavelengths of light produced can help with many conditions and symptoms, including:

- Stretch marks
- Wrinkles and lines

The cost of your LED light therapy will vary depending on the extent of treatment necessary. At Goodman Dermatology, we understand that each patient is entirely unique. What Can I Expect During the LED Light Therapy Treatment?
The LED light therapy treatment is safe and comfortable, and requires no anesthetic. Before the treatment, we will provide you with protective eyewear, as the LED lights get very bright and can be damaging to the eyes. Once situated, we will position the LED device above the skin and begin delivering the appropriate wavelengths of light to the desired treatment area. The lights will not get hot, only warm, so you can expect to remain comfortable for the duration of the 30 minute treatment.
Are There Any Side Effects After LED Light Therapy?
After your LED light therapy treatment, you may notice some minor redness or sensitivity in the skin. These symptoms are common, and will typically fade within a few hours of treatment.
Is There Any Downtime Required After LED Light Therapy?
There is no downtime necessary after LED light therapy. In fact, you will be able to return to all usual activities immediately following your appointment.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect After My LED Light Therapy?
The results from the LED light therapy treatment will develop gradually in the weeks and months following your treatment session. For best results, we often recommend several treatment sessions performed over the course of a few weeks. The number of treatments will vary based on your skin type, cosmetic concerns, and desired results.
